Update - May 2, 2013

Oh happy spring!

The door is open and the breeze feels perfect!

Yesterday's open door welcomed the new shipment of MadelineTosh yarns.  It was well worth the six month wait! We've got 18 glorious colors of both Merino DK and Tosh Light.  The colors are so rich and deep.  I've spent way too many hours on Ravelry trying to find just the right project to start.

However enticing the Tosh is, I think I'm going to stick to my planned project, a dress out of the Cascade Eco + wool, http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/allegheny-2.  I've had my eye on this for a while and if I start now I should have a fabulous new dress for fall.  The gauge is perfect for the Eco +, which has tremendous yardage for the cost.  I know I will love to pull it on with a (NEW) pair of boots as soon as the temperature drops again.

While I'm waiting for Monday's shipment of Eco + to arrive, I've been working on a super cuter, super quick, lace vest out of the new Plymouth Super Merino.  It's flying off my needles at 4 sts/inch on size 8's.  I just started carrying this yarn and I love the crisp colors, the softness, and the twist of this worsted weight superwash merino shows off the stitches perfectly.  I should have my version up soon but, for now, check it out here on Ravelry, http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/100-little-lace-vest

I finally finished the beautiful Sophia, http://www.ravelry.com/projects/KirbyT/sophia, out of this month's yarn of the month, Loiusa Harding's Grace Hand-dyed.  Joyce also finished her project using the same yarn, http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/creme-brulee-2.  The buttery soft feel of the 50% Merino/50% Silk blend is made better by the gorgeous spring hand-dyed colors.   Come see them and feel how wonderful this yarn is.

I have mentioned to many of you that I will do some nice specials for Mother's Day. Well, I couldn't decide which items so I went with everything on my list. All in-stock project bags, ball winders, yarn swifts, and all needle sets will be 15% this month. It may be time to put those items on your Mother's Day list.

We still have some room in Sharon's mitered top class. Give it a try! She and I are working on dates for some new classes as well so keep checking the website, www.outoftheloopyarnshop.com.

See you soon!
