Breathe!

This is what Sasha has said to me leaving the shop every day this week!   She is a wise woman.  We should all take a moment to breathe.

The gift giving holidays are coming up quickly and the pressure to finish our hand made gifts is mounting.  Don't forget that we make our gifts because it gives us the opportunity to do the craft that gives us fulfillment as we create a gift to be cherished and, all the while,

Update - February 1, 2018

It is with tremendous sadness that I am writing to tell you that Out of the Loop will close the doors for good shortly.  The pleasure of helping you enjoy our shared craft as well as getting to know so many of you has given me rewards far beyond that of profit or finance.

I have been so thankful that the warm and inviting feeling at Out of the Loop comes from all of you. Joyce, Sasha, Sue, Theresa R, Courtney, Janet, Anneleise, and many others over the years, have brought incredible talent combined with passion and patience to show you the simple joy and beautiful creations that can come from your hands and your heart. Please carry that feeling as you move on in your own knitting and hooking adventures.

While I'm sure that I won't leave the fiber world completely, I'm not sure exactly what path I'll take (more to come on that ,for sure).   I do know that I will be honored to help open a new shop soon.  Many of you have met Sue Costigan who has been working in the shop on Thursdays for about a year.  She has a small property in Cold Spring that will be the home of her yarn shop, The Endless Skein.  Her goal for opening will be sometime around the Fall of 2018.  As I have, you will love her always positive good nature as well has her experienced and knowledgeable guidance.  I'm sure The Endless Skein will provide you the opportunity to find new and fabulous yarns ,as well as some old favorites, while learning and perfecting your skills.  You may see some familiar faces as well!  Please email Sue at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or reply to me if you like to hear about her opening.

I don't have an exact date for closing the doors yet but I will close as soon as I have sold the inventory and the fixures.  Beginning tomorrow, Feb. 1, all yarn, accessories, and magazines will be 20% off.   I will let you know if and when I have a more concrete date for closure.

Thank you, once again, for your loyalty and for the pleasure of knowing you.

Theresa

Update - January 18, 2018

Happy New Year!  As I think about how I have been blessed in so manys here at Out of the Loop, I want to thank all of you and wish you health and happiness always.  Your continued loyalty means so much to me.

At the end of last week I thought about the conversations I've had over the last few weeks.  They have centered around building skills.  Some people ran across techniques they'd never tried.  Others have never knit a sweater.  So this weekend we'll take a stab at fixing both.

Come on by tomorrow or Saturday to start a sweater and we'll figure out what's best for you and give you 15% off the yarn!

While you're here sign up for a skills class on Saturday.   I choose from the things that people have talked about most. See the list below and give me a call if you're interested.

See you Soon!
