Update - December 13, 2014

This is what Sasha has said to me leaving the shop every day this week!   She is a wise woman.  We should all take a moment to breathe.

The gift giving holidays are coming up quickly and the pressure to finish our hand made gifts is mounting.  Don't forget that we make our gifts because it gives us the opportunity to do the craft that gives us fulfillment as we create a gift to be cherished and, all the while,

Update - November 11, 2017

The Heat is ON! It's getting HOT in here!

It seems like we've spent the entire month of October stuffing the shelves and planning projects.  The weather lulled me into a false sense of time.

IT'S NOVEMBER!  I must get going on my holiday gifts!

I have tons of ideas and plenty of yarn options for them.  Stop by today to share some cider and snacks and get going on your holiday projects as well.  Of course, we'll have some surprise specials and plenty of fun.

Here's some great ideas to get you started:

1) Andrea Mowry is on fire!  She has her finger on every knitter's pulse and she's cranking out project after project of fun to knit and fun to wear items.  From this cute hat, to a fabulous speckled wrap, or this cosy textured shawl.

2) Fifty Four Ten Studio has been knitting up some fabulous home gift ideas on super chunky yarns.  With a few hours of time and pillow insert you can make https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/step-in-time-pillow or a warm throw. There are several great ideas.

3) Continuing the super chunky idea:

4) And my current favorite quick knit accessories:

Those should get you started but I have loads more ideas so come have some cider today and we'll get you started on your holiday projects!

Happy knitting,

Update - August 25, 2017

It's sticky and steamy outside but fall yarns are stuffing the shelves and designers are dropping new projects daily.   We've got some fun events planned so grab your calendar and your needles and get ready for some fun!
Malabrigo Mechita is here in 23 gorgeous colors.  It's a slightly felted, single ply, superwash, fingering weight (now that's a mouthful!). Just in time JoJi Locotelli released two new patterns using it: a flattering long lightweight cardigan, http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/longline-cardigan-3 and a fun to knit and fun to wear cowl, http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/bobble-cowl-10 .  I'm pretty sure that Joyce already has the cowl on her needles.
One Eternity Later....pardon the SpongeBob reference but it's appropriate and I'm sure the wait will be worth it when we finally receive the Boon Skinny from Woolen Boon.  It is also a single ply fingering weight superwash but the dye process and the colors are something completely different and fabulous!  http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/so-faded need I say more?
There's no more waiting necessary for the Knitted Wit Aran superwash.  It is front and center so that I can keep looking at it!  This yarn is heaven and the colors are rich and vibrant.  Sue got an early batch so we'd have a sample ready.  She whipped up this cardigan, http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/harvest-moon-6 and I can't keep it off even on these hot days with my personal heater working overtime.  It must be touched!
We've got new colors of chunky alpaca and worsted and DK superwash, new buttons, super soft angora pom poms, new needles from Lykke and loads of ideas for making all of it into something wonderful and new for fall!  There's so many more new yarns to come and I'm excited to see the shop transform for this season.
See you soon,
