Update - November 5, 2013

Like me, most of you are probably thinking about if not well into your holiday knitting.  For the most part I knit for the shop (shop = me) but I look forward to this time of year when I can think about the people I love and bestow my beloved craft on them.  With each stitch I imagine them wearing the object or opening the package. I hope they will love the colors I've chosen and that they will love knowing that they've been the focus of many hours of my attention.  I hope they will know how special they are to me when they receive what I believe to be something much more special than a gift I would purchase.  Just like a purchased gift, though, there is much reward in the giving because you give the gift of your heart, your time, and your thoughts.  Since my gift receivers may be reading this I will keep my project plans secret but stop by if you need some ideas.

Yarn of the Month - November 2013

Yarn of the Month!

15 % off Cascade 220 Wool

Update - January 14, 2014

Happy new year!

With the holidays behind me, it feels like it's time to work on something for me.  I was so inspired this fall that I made serious headway on three sweaters for myself that were abandoned when it became do or die time for gift knitting.  Since the new year began I have focused and nearly finished two of them.  I can't wait to get them on!

Today I should finish the first, which is a kind of funky but, hopefully, flattering pull over by Stephen West.  http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/swingback/people I've made mine using Malabrigo Rios as the base and Dyelot Yarns Stimulus Package for the contract colors.   The colors are all shades of red and I've got perfect outfit planned (jeans and boots, surprise surprise).  I'm determined to wear it tomorrow.

Update - May 2014

I'm so excited I can't decide what to tell you first!

There's lots of new yarns that have been arriving. I've just finished a top that, finally, is too warm to wear in this fabulous weather but will be great when it cools again.  Sasha and Joyce have projects flying off their needles as well. Sharon has new classes to offer.  There's lots going on here to inspire you!

I told you about Manos Fino last month.  It has been flying off the shelf and I'll have new colors arriving in about two weeks.   Joyce and Sasha both made Frisson, http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/frisson , from different colors and they feel fabulous.  Stop by to see Joyce's hanging above her Caramel sweater.

Caramel, http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/caramel-2 , is a casual top down cardigan with gorgeous drape that works for so many figures (ask me about the completed pattern changes for larger sizes).  Joyce made hers from MadelineTosh Merino DK but we've got lots of colors of Classic Elite's Soft Linen. Sasha's version is equally gorgeous out of yarn that feels wonderfully silky against your skin.   The linen drape is perfect for this and many summer tops.

Also, done with Soft Linen is Cyndi Derosaire's Vampyre, http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/the-vampyre .  She has kindly let us display it to show how light and beachy it is compared to the many done with Tosh DK.  Come and feel them both!
