I'm so excited to have my beloved Jaya back at the shop to teach.  She's a busy girl now but has set aside three dates to give you the skills you'll need to start making socks.  Some people find sock knitting the most calming and rewarding part of their knitting experience.  Using a basic sock pattern, you will learn classic knitting techniques and tips to both avoid common pitfalls and how create a perfect fit. You can learn to knit on double point needles, 2 circulars or magic loop. For magic loop, please get at least a 40" circular. Class List - Winter 2014 (New class added - December 13, 2014)

SWEATER CLUBS

For me January has always been the time to start a sweater project for myself.  After working feverishly on quick gifts, I look forward to starting something that isn't just mindless knitting.  Both of these projects are classically styled cardigans with a modern look.  They will be both figure flattering and fashionable at the same time.   Both will offer you the opportunity to learn the basics of sweater construction from gauge and fitting to your figure through setting in sleeves and multiple finishing techniques.  Each has a different bonus lesson! Each class will be $10 and we will meet every week (unless weather, another class, or life gets in the way) until we finish!  Check them out and see if one (or both) will work for you. I will lead them both and I can't wait to get started!

Friday Morning Sweater Club - BONUS: Cables

Designer Thea Coleman has a beautiful way of giving classic styles and techniques a modern twist, which is exactly what I was looking for when starting this project.  You can see all of her work here http://www.ravelry.com/designers/thea-colman .  I have chosen Bloody Mary, http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/bloody-mary-3 , because I think it will be flattering to so many figures and because I have wanted it in my own closet for a while.   The cables are substantial enough to give you plenty to learn without being overwhelming to a beginner.

Dates/Times: Fridays,  9:00 - 10:00, beginning January 9

PRICE: $10

Saturday Morning Sweater Club - BONUS: Stranded Colorwork

I came across this pattern recently and I can't get it out of my mind! I think it makes a great class project because there are so many learning points and because it's both beautiful and, again, flattering to many figures.  Serious Wow factor!
